Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has taken strong exception to the reported remarks of APNGOs’ Association president P. Ashok Babu against Telangana.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, TRS legislators Jupally Krishna Rao and K. Swamy Goud said the Seemandhra leaders and associations were making much noise on Hyderabad now that they had realised that stopping formation of Telangana State was not possible.
They were raising a hue and cry over Hyderabad not out of concern for the people of the remaining two regions but only for protecting their properties here.
Initially, the Seemandhra leaders said they would be denied water if the State was bifurcated but were now claiming rights over Hyderabad, the TRS leaders said, adding that it had now become clear that their agitation was not to get water for the Seemandhra region but was about their properties.
Refuting the APNGOs’ president’s claim that Hyderabad had got electricity supply only after the people from Seemandhra started settling in the city, the TRS leaders said power generation was taken up in Hyderabad much before it was done in Madras.
Meanwhile, former TRS MP in a statement claimed that injustice was still continuing to the region.
He said the approved strength of judges in the AP High Court was 49 and the present strength of judges was 24 excluding the Chief Justice. Recently, eight judges were appointed but only two of them were from Telangana.
From the total strength of judges only six were from Telangana, he said.
Besides, eight more district Judges were likely to be elevated to the High Court from the service quota and they were all from Seemandhra regions, he claimed.
