The students' wing of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) on Sunday organised a programme to wash the Telangana martyrs memorial opposite Assembly with milk, symbolic of expressing its resentment over leaders of Telugu Desam paying tributes at the venue before leaving for New Delhi on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the students' wing president B. Suman said that the TDP had actually desecrated the memorial as the party was a stumbling block towards achieving separate Telangana. The TDP delegation left for New Delhi to stage a dharna demanding Statehood to Telangana because the party lacked public support in the region.
The dharna was nothing but a re-enactment of scene created by TDP before the last byelections. Just as the TDP leadership left for Babli unable to face polls, it undertook a visit to New Delhi now as it could not face the ire of people , Mr. Suman added.
