TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said the issue of merging his party with the Congress would arise only after the Bill on bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh is passed in the Parliament.

“How many times should I tell you that there is no meaning in talking about merger without the Bill is not passed?” he said in an agitated tone when his attention was drawn to reports that it could be partial merger.

His remarks assume significance in the wake of reports on Monday that he had hinted to his senior party colleagues that TRS may not merge with the Congress. He had gone to the extent of telling the leaders that the TRS should go alone in the next elections.
