HYDERABAD: Having firmed up electoral understanding with the Congress, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has asked its district units to begin seat-identification process in consultation with the former for facilitating smooth sharing of seats in the panchayat elections.

The TRS has sought recommendations from its district leadership by Monday evening so that the differences can be thrashed out with the Congress at the State-level here before filing nominations, Union Minister A. Narendra told a news conference after his talks with the Congress.

Give and take approach

Mr. Narendra said that TRS and the Congress had agreed to avoid clashes between themselves to keep the Telugu Desam out of reckoning. The two parties had decided to adopt a `give and take' approach for victory. He said that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had instructed district Congress presidents and Ministers to work out the seat-sharing exercise with the TRS.

The Union Minister also said that TRS had demanded chairmanship of three Zilla Parishads, including Karimnagar and Nizamabad, which it had already held.

In addition, it would seek either Adilabad or Warangal ZP chairmanship.

After allocating to the Left, the two parties will share the ZPTC seats equally.
