Alleges that he insulted Telangana martyrs

Telangana Rashtriya Lok Dal (TRLD) State secretary Regulapati Madhusudhan Rao, who is contesting the legislative council elections from the Karimnagar graduates constituency as an independent, has flayed TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao for fielding a non-local candidate, Swami Goud, in the elections.

Madhusudhan Rao, who is a close relative of the TRS president and was associated with the party before joining TRLD, had alleged that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao had insulted people and the Telangana martyrs of Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Medak by not fielding the local candidate in the council elections and naming the candidature of Swami Goud for his selfish gains.

Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, he demanded that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao explain why the party had fielded a non-local in the council elections from Karimnagar graduates constituency. Alleging that Mr. Rao was using the sentiment and winning elections claiming as referendum since the last 12 years, he said that the TRS president had no concern for a separate Telangana. He also found fault with the candidature of Swami Goud, who was facing allegations and several cases pending against him over the irregularities in the Telangana non-gazetted officers housing society.

Chandrasekhar Rao’s niece and TRLD State women’s wing president Regulapati Ramya flayed the TRS president for fielding Swami Goud, who she claimed had diluted the general strike and formation of Telangana state. Ridiculing the TRS president’s claim that a Dalit would be made the Chief Minister in Telangana state, she questioned the absence of a Dalit candidate in the council elections.
