The Congress party rank and file have paid rich tributes to former Assembly Speaker D. Sripada Rao on the occasion of his 14th death anniversary by organising various programmes in Karimnagar on Saturday.

Government Whip Arepalli Mohan and Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar and others paid floral tributes to the portrait of Sripada Rao at the Congress party office in Karimnagar. Later, they distributed two tricycles sponsored by DCC spokesperson K Narender Reddy to the physically challenged persons on the occasion.

Later, the Congress leaders led by town president Kanne Krishna, PCC secretary Y. Sunil Rao, former ZP chairman A. Laxman Kumar, former Mayor D. Shankar and others participated in the distribution of fruits to the inmates of government blind school at Vavilalapalli, old age home at Kharkhanagadda. They also participated in the poor feeding programme at the statue of Sripada Rao.
