The traffic on the Karimnagar-Sircilla route had to be diverted following the overflowing of SRSP canal waters on the Shabashpalli village low-level bridge in Boinpalli mandal on Saturday.
Following heavy inflows into the SRSP, the authorities released about 14,000 cusecs of flood waters from the SRSP flood flow canal to fill the Lower Manair Dam (LMD) reservoir in Karimnagar town. Due to the release of flood waters, the water was overflowing from the low-level bridge forcing the revenue authorities to close the road for the safety of road users.
The traffic on the busy route was diverted from Kodurupaka via Boinpalli to Vemulawada to proceed to Sircilla and Kamareddy regions. The authorities have barricaded the roads and deployed police forces.
