VIJAYAWADA: For the convenience of people who watch one-day cricket match between cine stars and test players at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium on Sunday, the traffic police will divert vehicular traffic and block roads at select points between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Heavy vehicles like RTC buses coming from Benz Circle will be diverted at Benz Circle towards NH-5 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Other four wheelers and two wheelers will be allowed up to Veterinary hospital junction. From there, the vehicles will be diverted towards NH-5 through Netaji Bridge.
In the same manner, the vehicles will be diverted from 3.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Vehicles coming from the police control room on Bandar Road will be diverted on route No.5 from old bus stand point and will join NH-5 at ITI junction (Dr. Ramesh hospital junction) from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and again 3.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Vehicles coming from Sikhamani Centre to Red Circle will be diverted towards route No.5 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and again from 3.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Roads will be blocked at veterinary junction, DCP bungalow junction, Sikhamani centre, Red circle junction and RIO office junction.
The traffic police identified parking places for two-wheelers at veterinary hospital and Road Transport Authority office road, for two and four wheelers at Bishop Ajaraiah School and PWD grounds.
VIP car parking will be on city Armed Reserve grounds, according to T. Prabhakara Babu, assistant commissioner of police (traffic).
