HYDERABAD: Here is a word of caution for international air passengers.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) A. K. Khan on Thursday advised that passengers travelling abroad on Friday and Saturday should reach much earlier to the Rajiv Gandhi International airport at Begumpet prior to the scheduled time of their flight as traffic restrictions would be imposed in the city in connection with President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's visit.
Traffic will be stopped or diverted in the following routes:
From 9.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday: Airport, PNT junction, Shyamlal building, Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet flyover, Greenlands, Monappa Island, Yashoda Hospital at Somajiguda, Villa Marie College, Raj Bhavan and V. V. Statue.
From 9.45 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. on Saturday: Raj Bhavan, Monappa Island, Greenlands, Begumpet flyover, Hyderabad Public School, Alliauddin Building, PNT junction, Rasoolpura junction, CTO junction, Rajiv Gandhi Statue at Balamrai, Brooke Bond crossroads and Imperial Gardens.
From 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.: Imperial Gardens, Brooke Bond crossroads, Rajiv Gandhi Statue at Balamrai, CTO junction, Rasoolpura junction, PNT junction and airport.
From 5.30 p.m. to 6.25 p.m.: Airport, PNT junction, Rasoolpura junction, Ministers Road, Nallagutta, Ranigunj junction, Karbala Maiden, Children's Park, Upper Tank Bund, Ambedkar Statue, Liberty junction, Basheerbagh flyover, BJR Statue, Gunfoundry, Taj Mahal Hotel, Abids police station, Troop Bazaar, Bank street, Koti, Putlibowli junction and V. V. College.
Traffic will be stopped from 6.30 p.m. to 7.45 p.m. during return journey from the V. V. College to Airport via Troop Bazaar Abids, Basheerbagh, Upper Tank Bund and Ministers Road.
