The Teej festival was celebrated with devotion and traditional fervour at Garidepalli Tanda in Kamepally mandal on Sunday.

Worship of wheat saplings, traditional dance in praise of the deities and other special rituals marked the celebration of the festival on an impressive note in the tribal hamlet. Clad in their traditional attire, the unmarried women of the Lambada community performed special pujas and rituals in accordance to the age-old customs on the occasion. A large number of tribal people of Lambada community and their close relatives participated in the festivities. The former sarpanch of the village Banothu Mangamma and others supervised the arrangements.
