The local traders and shopkeepers at the sacred hill temple of Lord Venkateswara on Wednesday resorted to a flash strike protesting what they termed as the high-handed attitude of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam’s (TTD) revenue authorities.

The devotees were subjected to a lot of difficulties with all the business establishments remaining closed. However, the medical shops were exempted from the bandh. While the local traders alleged that they were being subjected to severe harassment on the pretext of removing encroachments for the past three days, the revenue authorities on the other hand maintained that the raids were being carried out to ensure that there were no infringements of the TTD properties of any kind.
