Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), in continuation of its global legacy of motorsports, showcased two concept cars of its Etios Motor Racing series here on Saturday in its endeavour to promote it through its dealer network. They will be available for enthusiasts to see on Sunday.
The two-day road show aims at covering 14 cities and 25 dealer locations across the country, with an objective of putting on display concept cars and generates interest among motor-lovers. Before Hyderabad, the other cities covered, include Chandigarh, Mohali, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata and Lucknow, said a spokesperson, adding that it was in line with the company's philosophy of ‘Waku Doki' that in Japanese means excitement, joy and fun.
Accordingly, concept cars were placed at Harsha Toyota and Radhakrishna Toyota dealerships here attracted a modest gathering of speed enthusiasts.
To make the event interesting, experience zones were set up, with video games and remote-controlled cars for kids and youth, apart from go-karting.
The initiative also includes a competition-of-sorts, asking interested one to apply for the job of a race driver when the Etios Motor Racing car hits the track in 2013. Over 3,000 drivers applied online for the exciting position.
