HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Thursday arrested a superintendent engineer of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation D. Shiva Kumar, here on charge of possessing and amassing wealth illegally.
Searches at his office in Hyderabad, residence at Vasavi Colony in Kothapet, revealed that he secured properties worth over Rs. 1.80 crore, which were disproportionate to his known sources of income, an official note said. Among his properties were 30 acres of agricultural land in Laxmapur village of Shamirpet mandal, five poultry sheds in three acres of land in Shamirpet with 25,000 birds, one two-floor house, three bore-wells in agricultural land, two plots at Ahmedguda in Shamirpet, three houses -a two-floor house at Vasavinagar Colony and two at Lalaguda of Secunderabad and one flat in Secunderabad. The market value of these properties is Rs. 10 crore, according to the note.
An amount of Rs. 3.86 lakh, gold jewellery weighing 300 gms, two cars -a Toyota Qualis and Maruthi Zen-, a Bajaj auto-rickshaw, two bikes, were seized from his house during the searches.
