The pro-Telangana parties and organisations appear to be working on yet another mass programme, on the lines of the Telangana March.

The Telangana Joint Action Committee (T-JAC) is planning to convene a broad-based meeting, bringing all the political parties and groups supporting separate statehood issue, to one platform to evolve a concrete action in this direction.

The dates of the meeting have not been finalised though.

The TJAC was likely to announce the schedule and agenda of the meeting in a couple of days.

The broad-based meeting assumes significance in the light of TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s recent announcement that winning a sizeable number of seats in the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly elections, whenever they were held, was the only way to secure separate Telangana.

T-JAC chairman M. Kodandaram called on BJP State president G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday and extended an invitation to the party to participate in the extended meeting.

They reportedly discussed the course of action to be adopted to continue mounting pressure on the Central government to take a positive decision on the issue ahead of the general elections, one-and-a-half years away.
