Accuses Congress of copying some of the schemes introduced by NTR
The actor takes part in roadshows in the district
Women, children greet the TDP campaigner
VISAKHAPATNAM: “Telugu pride is caught in the web of corruption by the Congress Government,” alleged film actor NTR Junior addressing meetings during his roadshows in Vizianagaram and Viskhapatnam district on Tuesday.
Women and children ran out of their houses and to greet the star campaigner of the TDP.
Children ran with TDP flags in their hands. The gathering seemed impressed by the mannerisms and style of the grandson of NTR and they drew parallels between the two, particularly of the campaign style.
NTR Junior began with the lines: “Ye desamegina yendu kalidina …” drawing loud cheers from the gathering. When NTR came to you with the slogan ‘Telugu Desam pilusthundi ra kadali ra” you had voted him to power. He had introduced several welfare schemes and earned a place in your hearts, he said.
“We (people) had done a mistake by giving power to the Congress during the last election. Now the time has come to correct that mistake. If, we don’t do it, it will be a blunder,” he said. The Congress had copied some of the schemes of NTR but the fruits of those schemes were cornered by Congress leaders and party workers.
He said that he would like to be reborn as a Telugu Desam worker and in the NTR family.
His speeches were brief and were mostly confined to highlighting the programmes implemented by the TDP in the past and lashing out at the Congress Government for corruption.
The actor was cheered by good crowds at L. Kota, Kothavalasa and Pendurthy.
