In the summer coaching camps to be organised during the coming month, thrust will be on games and sports earmarked under the PYKKA, the Krishna District Sports Authority has said.
Functioning under the guidance of SAAP, the District Sports Development Officer B. Sudhakar on Tuesday told The Hindu that kabaddi, kho kho, volleyball, football, weightlifting, taekwondo, boxing, athletics and archery were allotted to the district under the Central Government sponsored scheme.
“The primary aim of the scheme is to provide the elementary sports facility in each panchayat in the country and opportunities for the youth to engage themselves in sporting and physical fitness activities”, he said.
