A three-day ‘Telugu mahotsavam’ is being organised from December 13 in connection with the World Telugu Conference. To begin with, a photo exhibition of eminent Telugu poets who enriched the language over several generations is being held at Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram on December 13 by the District Cultural Council. 

It will be inaugurated by in-charge Collector N. Yuvaraj at 9 a.m.

A ‘Kavisammelanam’ will be organised at the Hindu College at 6 p.m. It will be presided by S. Gangappa and conducted by P.S.R. Anjaneya Prasad.

A procession depicting the greatness of Telugu will be taken from the houses of noted poets in Guntur city by school and college students on December 14.

It will be followed by unveiling of ‘Telugu talli’ statue at ‘Lumbini Vanam’ on the Collector office premises by Official Language Commission chairman Mandali Buddha Prasad at 10 a.m and a meeting at Police Parade Ground to be addressed by Mr. Buddha Prasad, Ministers Kanna Lakshminarayana and T.G. Venkatesh.

Maha Sahasravadhani Garikapati Narasimha Rao will be the special guest. On the last day (December 15),

‘Telugu Mahotsava Sabha’ will be held at Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram at 10 a.m.

It will be inaugurated and addressed by Sri Siddheswarananda Bharati Swamy of Kurtalam Peetham.
