Chief Minister to take partin the inaugural function
The Vakalapudi beach is being spruced up for the three-day ‘Kakinada beach festival’ to be launched on Friday.
Chief Minister N. Kirankumar Reddy will be the chief guest at the inaugural function.
He will also inaugurate the sculptor park at the beach. Union Minister M.M. Pallam Raju and local elected representatives will participate in the event.
The State government has allocated Rs. 12 lakh for conduct of the festival, while the Department of Tourism sanctioned another Rs. 3 lakh.
In addition, local corporate groups have come forward with Rs. 50 lakh as part of fulfilling their corporate social responsibility.
Along with musical concerts and dance ballets, flower show, dog show, food stalls, and fire works are being arranged at the beach.
Noted ‘Mrudangam’ artist Yella Venkateswara Rao and music director Koti will perform at the inaugural session.
Cultural performances will be held for all the three days in which noted film artistes and musicians will participate.
