Government whip Perni Venkataramayya inaugurated three cement concrete roads laid by the municipality in the Amruthapuram ST Colony here on Monday.

The roads were laid with and investment of Rs. 9.20 lakh sanctioned under the Special Component Fund.

The residents of the ST Colony that turned up in strength for the programme told Mr. Venkataramayya that the 40 houses in their colony were very old and leaked when it rained.

They urged him to have them reconstructed. They also asked him to arrange for street lights in their colony.

The MLA addressing a gathering said that six CC roads had been sanctioned for the colony.

Three of them laid at a cost of Rs. 9.2 lakh were inaugurated on Monday and the rest grounded very soon.

He said that all essential civic amenities like roads, drinking water and drains would be provided in the colony where the poor lived.

The Former Municipal Chairman Sk. Silar Dada, municipal DE Siva Prasad, AE Ramprasad, former councillor N. Kesavaiah, pastor Matta Babu Rao and others participated.
