Three lecturers, K. Ramachandra Rao, Valluri Srinivasa Rao and T. Kasi Visweswara Rao, working in the Government Arts College here have been selected for 14-day refresher course training programme on experimental physics at Indian Academy of Sciences (IASC), Bangalore. The coursewill commence from November 7. . Experimental physics is a noble initiative by the three science academies: -Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore, Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi and The National Academy of Sciences, India, Allahabad to provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with some latest designed innovative experiments.

Kit Developed

According to Ch. Masthanaiah, principal of the college, a low cost kit has been developed for experiments at the B.Sc, M.Sc and some at the post-M.Sc level. The kit would play a key role in further training of physics faculty, students of this region after the three lecturers complete their training in Bangalore , Mr. Mastanaiah added.

The kit has been designed by R. Srinivasan and his team for physics teachers and students, with the aim to improve laboratory programmes in universities .
