VIJAYAWADA: In what the police believe is the handiwork of a single gang, three incidents of house breaking were reported from Patamata area on Friday night. The incidents came to light only on Saturday morning, as the dwellers were gone out of the city.
In all, gold jewellery weighing 270 grams and Rs. 96,000 cash was found missing from the three houses.
The miscreants broke open the house of S. Narayana Prasad on Ramayanapuvari Street in Patamata and decamped with gold jewellery weighing 144 grams, Rs. 88,000 cash and a moped parked outside the house.
Mr. Prasad, along with his family, left for Hyderabad a couple of days ago. The miscreants gained entry into the house of B. Padma Kumari, who was residing in another portion of the same house, and decamped with gold jewellery weighing 126 grams and Rs. 8,000 cash. Ms. Kumari and her family left for relatives’ house. The miscreants then went to the house of Talupula Bhaskara Rao, residing next to the house of Mr. Prasad, and decamped with cash and gold jewellery. As Mr. Bhaskara Rao was yet to come from Kadapa, the details of the missing items were yet to be known.
The police collected finger prints from the scenes of offence.
Cases were registered.
