VISAKHAPATNAM: Three persons -- two detectives of a private agency and its local operator -- were arrested on Friday under the Privacy Act (Section 509).
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Ranga Reddy, Haripriya of city married Muralikrishna in 2004. Muralikrishna was reportedly given Rs.50 lakhs in cash as dowry at the time of the marriage. It was alleged that later he threw her out of the house and sought divorce. Haripriya returned to her parental home and is pursuing her law degree from Andhra University.
The detectives, reportedly engaged by Muralikrishna, allegedly went to the campus and began taking photographs of Haripriya while she was talking to her classmates. Sensing something fishy, she snatched the camera and called the police, according to the ACP.
A boy was kidnapped from his school on Friday.
According to the police, Apuroop, 3, was studying at the Daffodils School at Marripalem. His father Ramana was a teacher in the district.
Some anonymous callers phoned his home and said that they would kidnap the boy. Minutes later when the parents went to the school, the boy was missing.
Two persons were killed when mud from a quarry fell on them.
Ramasuri, 30, tractor driver, and K. Ramulamma, 26, were loading mud into the tractor at an unauthorised quarry at Pogadam village of Bhogapuram mandal in Bheemunipatnam Municipality on Friday.
