HYDERABAD: A bear and a deer decided to have fun, and they faced consequences. No, this did not happen in Hyderabad's concrete jungle. The curious events unfolded in the 3D animation film `Open Season' which had a world premiere on Friday, including at IMAX theatres in Delhi and Hyderabad.

The story goes like this: Boog (the bear) and Elliot (the deer) meet, only to turn the former's perfect world topsy-turvy. Boog who is ignorant of wild life experiences by virtue of living in the comforts of a man's world suddenly finds the going tough when left to fend for himself in the wilderness. With open season right around the corner, when hunters will be out on their job, Boog and Elliot have to unite to save the forest world.

Speaking to reporters Subba Rao of Prasads said, "It took three years for the directors to create these characters, so one can know how meticulously they have worked." The film is the brain child of Roger Allers of `The Lion King' and Jill Culton of `Monsters, Inc.' and `Toy Story 2.' `Open Season' has been produced by Sony Pictures Animation.

"It is the company's first full-length animation film," said Appu Singh, regional manager, Sony Pictures. The film has been released in IMAX 3D and in other theatres too. Prasads will be screening four shows daily. The tickets are priced at Rs. 175.
