HYDERABAD: The last date for receiving entries for The Hindu Young World Quiz 2008, Hyderabad, for schoolchildren has been extended till November 5.
The ninth edition of the quiz will be held at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan, MCH complex, Sarojini Devi Road, Secunderabad, on November 10.
The quiz will also be held in Chennai, Puducherry, Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangalore, Bangalore, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. Visakhapatnam will host the all-India final on November 13.
In Hyderabad, it will begin at 11 a.m. and the teams have to report by 10.15 a.m.
As usual, there will be a written preliminary round at each centre to select the six teams for the regional finals, both of which will be held on the same day.
The winning team from each region will be eligible to participate in the final.
A large number of prizes will be awarded at every stage and certificates given to all the participants. Any two students, from classes 6 to 9, can form a team.
Each school can send a maximum of three teams using the entry cards already sent.
