The Hindu Young World painting competition will be held on Sunday at the Indoor Gymnasium of the Department of Physical Education, Andhra University, opposite the School of Distance Education.

The competition will start at 9 a.m. and the duration is two hours. Prizes will be given away to the winners the same day at 12 noon at the venue. All participants will be given certificates.

This year, the title sponsor is Miot Hospitals (Chime) and national sponsor is Amrutanjan. Like every year, Food-Ex will be the regional sponsor and distribute delicious snacks to all the participants.

A ‘special mention' this year is that the best three paintings will be selected and engraved on the cover/lid of Amrutanjan product. Apart from the first, second and third prizes, there will be seven consolation prizes in each category.

After the prize distribution ceremony, the paintings will be displayed for the public.

The prize money for seniors is Rs.5,000, Rs.3000 and Rs.2,000 and for juniors it is Rs.3,000, Rs.2,000 and Rs.1,000 for the top three. Seven consolation prizes of Rs.500 will be given away in each category.
