The Hindu Metro Plus Cookery Contest today

The eagerly awaited The Hindu Metro Plus Cookery Contest – Vantalapoti – being organised in association with Freedom Refined Sunflower Oil is all set to be hosted on Sunday at Four Points by Sheraton from 11 a.m.

Participants, who had already registered over telephone and e-mail, have to be present at the venue by 10 a.m. to collect the ID cards. The counter will remain open till 10.45 a.m.

Only persons with ID cards will be allowed inside the main hall. Late entrants will not be allowed.

Each participant can bring only one dish, either in vegetarian, non-vegetarian, or dessert category. No side or accompanying dishes will be entertained. In such cases, the entry will be disqualified.

The participants will bring cooked food in “contest-ready and presentable” form. They can add or give only minor touch-ups inside the hall.

The contest begins at 11 a.m. and participants alone will be allowed inside the venue.

Nobody will be allowed to accompany the participants inside the venue.

Deputy Inspector-General (Visakha range) Sowmya Mishra will be the chief guest. Indira Sudhakar, wife of Rear Admiral T. Sudhakar Chief Staff Officer (Personal and Administration) of Eastern Naval Command, and P. Sharada Reddy, principal of Visakha Valley School, are the guests of honour.


Associate sponsors for the event are Khazana Jewellers and Indian Oil Corporation. Event partners are Radio 92.7 Big FM.

Hospitality partner is Four Points by Sheraton and the goodwill partner is Innovations (Vizag).

The event will be covered and telecast on MAA main channel and a special programme will be telecast on MAA Gold channel.

The contest will be hosted by anchors of ‘Maa Voori Vanta' programme of MAA TV.
