Ichoda mandal headquarter village observed a bandh while police clamped prohibitory orders on Thursday to pre-empt a possible clash of the communal nature.

There was tension at this large village on the NH-7 about 32 km from Adilabad town, after a tiff in a hotel on Wednesday night threatened to worsen the situation.

Tiff over trivial matter

Ingi Raju and Kadam Ramesh, both of Adegaon in Ichoda mandal, beat up Abdul Sattar, owner of a hotel over a trivial matter on Wednesday evening. About 50 supporters of Sattar gathered near a place of worship on Thursday morning to discuss the issue.

Ichoda SI Ramesh Kumar arrived at the scene and pacified the gathered youth.

He, however, had to resort to a mild cane charge to prevent the group from assaulting another youth, Pere Ramesh, who was video shooting the proceedings in his cell phone.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against Raju, Kadam Ramesh and Pere Ramesh. Adilabad DSP K.M. Maheswara Raju supervised law and order situation and intensified patrolling besides placing pickets.
