Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam is making arrangements to perform ‘haarathulu’ to river Krishna on November 28. The government has issued orders to the temples situated on river banks across the State to perform haarathulu to respective rivers as part of Kartika maasam celebrations.

Subsequently, the Kanaka Durga temple authorities have chalked out plans. As many as 25 troupes from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams would arrive here to perform kolatam etc as part of the Karthika maasam celebrations. The kolatam would be organised at places like Ashoka pillar, Vinayaka temple on Canal Road and on Indrakeeladri, abode of goddess Kanaka Durga, the officials said. A procession would be taken out from Malleswara swamy temple atop of Indrakeeladri at 4 p.m. The haarathulu will be performed between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
