The cell for promotion of Telugu as classical language, which began to function at the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore, will be established at Hyderabad.

This was announced by Union Human Resources Development Minister Kapil Sibal at Delhi on Friday when a delegation of eight MPs from the State met him on Friday and submitted a memorandum signed by a record number of 35 MPs, seeking shifting of the cell to Hyderabad. Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, former MP and member of the committee formed by the State government to promote Telugu language with its classical tag, who was on the delegation, told The Hindu .
