Chalasani Venkateswara Rao popularly known as Jagapathi Venkateswara Rao has penned a book on Telugu cinema industry. The book titled ‘Telugu Cinema’ was released at a function here on Sunday.

On the occasion, Mr. Rao, who established Jagapathi Film Distributors in Gandhi Nagar, said that he wrote the book with the sole objective of telling the GenX about the growth of film industry.

It took nearly one year to gather the information, posters and photos etc.

“The ‘Telugu Cinema’ was written out of my experience in the industry,” he said. The 74-year old author said that the industry saw a golden age and passed through turbulent years. Many sea changes, including slab system and percentage system, took place in the industry. The relationship between producer and distributor can never be forgotten.

The people could find these issues and matters in 163-page book, he explained.
