SANGAREDDY: The agitation for separate Telangana has been intensified across the district with all sections taking active part in the movement, though the differences were surfacing here and there.In an interesting development, the Telangana Awareness Committee (TAC) was formed in Medak consisting of lawyers, employees and teachers. In addition to the campaign taken by the Joint Action Committee (JAC), the members of the TAC were moving in villages and creating awareness about the need of forming the separate State. They were also explaining the benefits that would come after formation of the State.
Tension in Siddipet
Tension prevailed for some at Siddipet when some students burnt down a banner of the Congress protesting the delay in taking decision by the Core Committee in Delhi. PCC member Farooq Hussain tried to prevent it leading to arguments.
However, the students made it clear that they were protesting over the delay. Finally, intervention by police pacified the situation.
Some of the settlers at Siddipet and Machavarm near Medak town held dharna and rasta roko in support of separate State agitators. They claimed that they were safe at the present place and were against unified Andhra State.
In a related development, three persons – G. Shiva Kumar, Md. Yakoob (both TRS leaders) and Nama Ravikiran were arrested by the police in relation to the burning of tahasil office at Zaheerabad few days ago. Demanding their release, students and others held dharna at Zaheerabad.
