Slow pace of housing programme works irks Collector

Srikakulam: Irked over the slow pace of progress of housing scheme in the district, Collector V.N. Vishnu, who reviewed the scheme with task force officers, Mandal Revenue Officers and Mandal Parishad Development Officers here on Friday, directed them to initiate steps for suspension of Tekkali MPDO for not cooperating in the execution of the scheme that has top priority.

Feasibility reports

Feasibility reports had been finalised for construction of some 69,800 units. Documentation was yet to be completed in case of 5,000 units, it was stated at the meeting. Mr. Vishnu wanted all formalities to be completed by March 15 and complete construction expeditiously. "I have been receiving reports of corruption and other irregularities from various quarters. Everybody is watching you. Nobody will be spared if found guilty," Mr. Vishnu warned. ZP Chairman Palavalasa Rajasekhar was present. Later, the Collector also reviewed the pension scheme.
