Senior party leader T. Devender Goud to participate

KARIMNAGAR: The Telugu Desam Party district president L. Ramana has said that they would organise a padayatra from the Pranahita river to Chevella in Ranga Reddy district on January 28 demanding the completion of scheme to lift Pranahita waters to Yellampalli project and to the upland regions of the district.

Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, he said that senior party leader

T. Devender Goud and others would also participate in the padayatra. Alleging that the Government has failed to take up the Yellampalli project even after allocation of mobilisation advances, he demanded that the Government expedite work on the project by lifting the water from the project to Karimnagar, Medak and Ranga Reddy districts.

He also demanded that the Government collect the share of Rs. 150 crores from the NTPC, Ramagundam, for the completion of Yellampalli project as the water from the project would be utilised for power generation also.

He also demanded the Government to accord priority for the relief and rehabilitation of land oustees before taking up the project.

The TDP town president Gangula Kamalakar, spokersperson, Eda Shankar Reddy and others were also present.
