The Telugu Desam Party is of the opinion that the ruling party had passed the SC/ST Sub-Plan Bill-2012 in the special Assembly session only to gain political mileage. The bill was not passed wholeheartedly by the ruling party. Party district president Dwarapureddy Jagadish addressed a press conference after its coordination committee meeting on Thursday.
Mr. Jagadish said there was no clarity on the recommendations made by the Sub-Committee on SC/ST Sub-Plan and also on the suggestion for appointment of an ombudsman for monitoring allocation of grants by P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju in the Assembly. He said that the party cadres and leaders would enlighten people in this regard.
The ‘Palle Palleku TDP’, that was suspended for unexplained reasons, would be completed by January 10. The party had also decided to draw a road map for the impending ‘Vastunna Meekosam’ yatra of N. Chandrababu Naidu, party president, in the district.
The date was yet to be announced. However, the yatra would be for nine days and he would cover over 140 km in seven Assembly constituencies, except Kurupam and Salur.
On elections to cooperative societies, he criticised the government for announcing the schedule without giving prior notice. On FDI in retail market, he said that all in-charges of Assembly constituencies would create awareness among traders on its ill-effects.
He asked the State government to oppose implementation of the FDI policy.
