GUNTUR: Telugu Desam Party Politburo member and convener of preparatory committee of ‘Yuva Garjana’ Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Sunday said that the TDP has resolved to allot 40 per cent of Assembly seats in the forthcoming general elections to youth. Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said that the party would come out with a new agenda for youth in the ‘Yuva Garjana’ scheduled to be held at Nagarjuna Nagar on November 5 and assured that youth would be given a priority in the welfare schemes to be implemented by the government. Comparing the Yuva Garjana with the Simha Garjana held earlier by N.T. Rama Rao, he said that the Yuva Garjana would sound the death knell for the Congress party, which has been facing the ire of the people.
Referring to the spat between two senior ministers, Gollapalli Surya Rao and J.C. Diwakara Reddy, he said that the spat reinforced the party view that most of the ministers in the Rajasekhara Reddy were mired in corruption. He reminded that the party had castigated the Government over the Yellampalli issue and would corner corruption in the forthcoming elections.
Earlier, Mr. Ramakrishnudu along with other committee members, Kagitha Venkata Rao and Garikipati Mohan Rao, visited the venue and reviewed the preparations at the venue of Yuva Garjana. He rechristened the venue on which the Garjana is scheduled to be held on November 5, as NTR Prangnam.
