Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Minority Cell took a dig at the State Government for its failure in, what it called, pre-empting the communal clashes in Old City of State capital.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, TDP Minority Cell state general secretary Abdul Raheem said the Congress government has utterly failed in assessing the root cause of the problem. Instead, it was making feats in the air. It led to communal clashes near Charminar. The TDP succeeded in bringing back peace in Old City of Hyderabad. There were no communal riots and clashes during the TDP rule. The Muslims then lived in peace, he said.

TDP Urban Minority Cell former president S. Firoz said the Congress should own responsibility for chaotic conditions prevailing in the Hyderabad. The communal clashes have become common phenomenon during Congress rule, and the Congress leaders were encouraging the clashes for their vested interests, he said, adding, the Hindus and Muslims were requested to maintain peace and harmony.
