“Government should clarify situation to clear the confusion among people”

HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has sought a white paper on budgetary allocation and expenditure in different regions in various sectors to clear the confusion and put an end to conflicting statements.

The sectors the party listed out include irrigation, industries, education, medical and health, agriculture, roads, transport, social welfare, power, employment and revenue from 1957 to 2008.

Varied interpretations

In a joint appeal to Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, six TDP leaders, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, M. V. Mysoora Reddy, Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and C. M. Ramesh, said the ongoing agitations in different regions were being interpreted differently by interested groups.

This was creating a lot of confusion among people over the development in various regions and it was better if the government clarifies the situation, they said in a press release.

They were also surprised by Mr. Rosaiah’s statement over shifting of investments to other States and projects being kept on hold.

Future development

This could only reflect on the future development of the State, in particular Greater Hyderabad and surrounding areas.

Great loss

It would also be a great loss for the younger generation by way of employment opportunities besides putting at stake the future of the State.

The leaders said it was the prime responsibility of the State government to give a clear- cut position of budgetary allocations to different regions, parameters such as demographic and economic trends to the people so as to provide clarity on such confused statements dispel confusion.
