Telugu Desam has termed YSR Congress president, Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's claim that he would provide a clean and corruption-free government, “laughable”.

At a press conference, TDP MLAs, B. Gopalakrishna Reddy and D. Narendra Kumar said it was surprising that Mr. Jagan, who was facing several charges could come up with such a statement and when most of the decisions taken by his father and former Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy were quid pro quo in nature to benefit him and his business empire. All these decisions were under investigation by the CBI now.

Mr. Jagan should come clean on how he managed to build assets of Rs.One lakh crore between 2004 and 2009, before embarking on providing a transparent government, they demanded. One such well- known quid pro quo decision was allotment of 25,000 acres to VANPIC in return for its investment in Mr. Jagan's daily, Sakshi, as revealed by the ongoing investigations. They alleged that the YSR Congress leader was not being arrested after he had a word with the Prime Minister.

Rubbishing Mr. Jagan's charges against the TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, they said as many as 36 inquiries did not find anything wrong in them. Most of these inquiries were politically motivated and ordered by Rajasekhara Reddy, they added.
