Action for `crossing all limits of decency and directly intimidating Chair'
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy on Wednesday suspended Telugu Desam member N. Janardhan Reddy from the House for one day for "crossing all the limits of decency and decorum and directly intimidating the Chair."
The usually calm Speaker lost his cool in the morning when the TDLP deputy leader rushed towards the podium in the midst of a debate on remunerative prices for cotton farmers. "Is it the Assembly or a public meeting? Don't you dare dictate terms to me?" the Speaker said.
Asserting that he knew "how to discipline the erring members," Mr. Suresh Reddy faulted Dr. Janardhan Reddy for "threatening the Chair."
