TDP leaders flayed Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for his adverse comments against N. Chandrababu Naidu that the CBI was ready to book a case against him in IMG land allotment violations on the instructions of the High Court.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, K.E. Krishna Murthy, Muddukrishnama Naidu, C.M. Ramesh and B. Gopalakrishna Reddy said a person of the stature of Chief Minister should have known that one should not try to influence the courts before its views were expressed. The case was yet to be admitted by the court.
They said Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy was the biggest disaster as Chief Minister in whose term power cuts were imposed in monsoon. Development came to a standstill and no new industries were coming due to the hostile atmosphere created by government itself. On the other hand, political parties took their fight to courts.
They faulted the Congress leaders for their comments on Naidu’s padayatra saying the overwhelming response to the programme was causing them nervous. The cheap comments indicated their frustration, the TDP leaders said.
They advised the Congress to recollect the stand of the TDP when a similar exercise was carried out by Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in 2004.
They alleged tacit understanding among the Congress, TRS and the YSR Congress as the latter two were preparing the ground to merge with the Congress.
Asked about the entry of Lokesh to active politics, the senior leaders wanted to know in what way one could prevent an individual from taking up an avocation of one’s choice. They tried to justify it saying when Jaganmohan Reddy, Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh wished to play it big in politics, what was wrong with Lokesh.
The party senior leaders urged the public and party cadres to participate in large number in the Padayatra and make it a success.
