Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu continued to remain silent, even as party leaders held a series of press conferences, slamming Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao for his provocative remark on Friday, asking all employees not hailing from the region, to pack up and leave.

All through Saturday, Mr. Naidu received dozens of newly-elected sarpanches who came to call on him and express their gratitude at his support.

Senior TDP leaders Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Somireddy Chandrasekhar Reddy expressed their resent at the YSR Congress Party for criticising the TDP.

“Why should the TDP be blamed when every decision pertaining to Telangana since the 60s and those since the formation of Andhra Pradesh with Kurnool as capital first and then Hyderabad and the Gentleman’s Agreement were taken when the Congress was ruling ?,” they demanded.
