Devender Goud mobilising public from Hyderabad, alleges MARKFED chairman

Goud to undertake padayatra from Pranahita to Chevella `There are differences within the party over the padayatra'`TDP resorting to cheap tricks to deceive the people of Telangana'

KARIMNAGAR: MARKFED Chairman Ponnam Prabhakar has said that TDP leader T. Devender Goud's padayatra from Pranahita to Chevella would be a `flop show' and that the people would not respond to it as the TDP government had deceived the people of Telangana by not taking up any irrigation projects for the region.

Talking to newsmen here on Friday, he charged that the TDP government had neglected the welfare of the farmers. The party had failed to take up any irrigation projects for the region such as the SRSP flood flow canal, Yellampalli, Devadula and Pranahita. In spite of promising to complete the Devadula lift irrigation project in three years, the TDP government had failed to do so, he alleged. Sensing that the people of the region would not support the padayatra, Mr Devender Goud had mobilised public from Hyderabad in over 200 vehicles, he charged.

He said that there was a difference of opinion within the TDP over

the padayatra. He said that the Congress would have been tight-lipped if the TDP leader had taken up the padayatra to the Inchampalli project site, which was delayed due to inter-State dispute. What prompted the TDP leader to start padayatra when the State Government was taking all measures for the early completion of projects on the Godavari in Telangana region, he asked. He found fault with the party leaders for resorting to cheap tricks only to deceive the people of the region.
