‘They have no moral right to comment on porubata'

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has lashed out at the Congress leaders for their mockery on Rythu Porubata launched by the TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mylavaram MLA and TDP district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said that Congress leaders, led by secondary education minister K. Parthasarathy, were making issue out of nothing. They have no moral right to comment on Mr. Naidu's porubata. The Congress government utterly failed in rescuing the farmers from distress. The Congress leaders were creating problems to Kolleru lake farmers as they did not receive the kickbacks. There were no concrete efforts to complete Pulichintala project or Bandar Port, he said.

Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal benefited a lot during the TDP rule. He could succeed in getting Lanco project as he circumambulated around Mr. Naidu. The government gave all permissions and freebies expecting that the project would generate employment in the State. The MP could earn crores of rupees due to the alms given by the TDP government. Now he was commenting against Mr. Naidu. He has no moral right to comment on Mr. Naidu or Balakrishna, he said.

The TDP leader said that the porubata was a grand success in the district.

Nandigama MLA Tangirala Prabhakar, state general secretary Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and others were present.
