HYDERABAD: The TDP displayed its significant presence in the Karimnagar and Bobbili Lok Sabha constituencies by organising massive rallies to coincide with the filing of nominations by its candidates L. Ramana and Kondapalli Appala Naidu respectively on Thursday.

Close on the heels of the show of strength by Congress candidates in the constituencies, the TDP held a rally at the sprawling Circus grounds in Karimnagar after Mr. Ramana filed his nomination while in Vizianagaram its leaders organised a procession that crippled vehicular traffic on all road for nearly four hours

In Karimnagar, TDP Polit Bureau member T. Devender Goud accused TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao of doing more harm to Telangana as Union Minister and asked him to spell out how he proposed to achieve separate Telangana. In Vizianagaram, Mr. Appala Naidu, a medical practitioner, made his debut in politics by filing four sets of nomination papers before Returning Officer and Collector B. Kishore amid much fanfare.

He is son of K. Pydithalli Naidu whose death caused the byelection in Bobbili.

Later, addressing a huge crowd from atop a truck, TDP leader P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju ridiculed the Chief Minister for not being able to expand his Cabinet even after two-and-a-half years.

BJP nominee Pakalapati Sanyasi Raju filed three sets of papers of papers in Bobbili.
