VIZIANAGARAM: The Telugu Desam Party launched an awareness campaign among people on price rise. As part of the campaign it released a pamphlet comparing prevailing rates of essential commodities with those in 2004. The pamphlets would be distributed in villages in the constituency.

P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, party Polit Bureau member and MLA, who released the pamphlets, told a press conference on Thursday that the soaring prices of essential commodities affected wage earners. He said that the UPA Government at the Centre hiked fuel prices eight times during the last five years and ninth time after coming to power once again recently.

The increase in petroleum products would automatically have a bearing on other sectors.
