Telugu Desam members, led by Machilipatnam constituency in-charge Kollu Raveendra, on Tuesday burnt the photocopies of Telangana note, which was recently approved by the Union Cabinet, during their protest at Koneru centre here.
Employees of the Krishna district courts, Information and Public Relations Department, and teachers took out rallies on the streets. Many court employees got their heads half tonsured condemning the Congress government’s move to divide Andhra Pradesh. The protesters also blocked the Kennedy Road and disrupted the vehicular movement while the police continued to guard the district Congress buildings on the road.
“The protests will go on till the decision to carve out Telangana is withdrawn by the Congress,” said Mr. K. Raveendra. Hundreds of artisans representing several Kalamkari units in Pedana municipal town joined in the ongoing relay hunger strike and raised slogans against the bifurcation move.
