ANANTAPUR: A TDP activist, L. Hariprasad Naidu (35) of Sirigepalli village in Simhadripuram mandal of Kadapa district, was killed on the outskirts of Tadipatri town on Monday night. He was going on a bike to Yellanuru.
The police said that a few unidentified persons waylaid and Naidu and hacked him repeatedly with sickles. He died on way to government hospital in Tadipatri. His wife Laxmidevi served as the Sarpanch in the past.
The Tadipatri rural police alerted all the surrounding police stations to nab the assailants. The attack took place around 9 p.m.
Killed in clash
In another case, one person was killed and another injured in a clash between two groups in Rani Nagar here late on Sunday night. According to the police, Noor Mohammed alias Laddu (20) of Gujjala Saraladevi Nagar was killed and Jaganmohan Reddy of the rival group was injured. The clash took place between Alla Baksh gang and Ramana Reddy gang for supremacy. Three persons were arrested.
