To exert pressure on the Centre to roll back hike in the prices of petrol

and diesel

NALGONDA: The Telugu Desam Party, Communist Party of India and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) district units will organise protest demonstrations in front of the offices of the mandal tahsildhars in all the 59 mandals in the district on March 6 to exert pressure on the Central government to roll back hike in the prices of petrol and diesel.

Addressing a joint press conference here on Wednesday, Telugu Desam Party district ad-hoc committee convener V. Swamy Goud along with the CPI (M) district secretary Nandyala Narasimha Reddy and CPI district secretary M. Adi Reddy alleged that the Centre imposed a backbreaking burden on the common man, who was already reeling under the adverse impact of multi-fold rise in the prices of essential commodities, by increasing the prices of the petro-products.

The cascading effect of the move would further worsen the life of the common man, the leaders said.

They asserted that the Telugu Desam and the Left parties would continue the agitation till the government withdrew its ‘anti-people' decision.

The protest demonstrations would be held in all the revenue divisional and constituency headquarters all over the district on March 6 as part of the State wide protest programme, they said.
