VIJAYAWADA: The Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) conducted a placement drive at the Lakireddy Bali Reddy College of Engineering at Mylavaram in Krishna district last week, in which nearly 30 students of the college were selected.

Director L.S.S. Reddy said that the selection team of the TCS came from its Chennai and Hyderabad branches and appreciated the international standards with which the infrastructure was being developed at the college. They also gave a power point presentation on the job opportunities in TCS.

The TCS executives advised the students to make the best use of most modern infrastructure at the college and achieve good careers in their life. Placement officer Prasad, head of various departments and others congratulated the students on their getting selected.

Dr. Reddy said that the Department of Science Technology, Government of India, sanctioned a research project to Dr. Sarath Kumar, dean of research and development under the ‘Young Scientist Scheme’. The project, which is worth Rs. 13.8 lakhs, focuses on “Prediction of propagation impairments for Ku-Ka band satellite links - real-time maintaining and analysis for communication application”.

The All India Council for Technical Education has sanctioned a grant-in aid of Rs. 23.50 lakhs under the “Modernisation and Removal of Obsolescence Scheme” for upgrading laboratories in the college.
