Telangana Congress MPs reacted guardedly to the Home Ministry’s invitation to political parties to depute two representatives each for the all party meeting on December 28.

They felt that the invitation was a good augury since it would bring out each political party in its true colours. They were particularly upbeat after their meeting with Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Wednesday afternoon. “Either two or ten, let there be any number of representatives. Each party shall give its stand in writing and there cannot be two views from single party,” Peddapalli MP G. Vivekanand said.

There is another section that is apprehensive of the overall import of the decision as it could well mark a repeat of the previous all party meeting. Terming the invite as “atrocious”, Congress MLC K. Yadav Reddy said being a responsible Minister, Mr. Shinde should be aware of the developments.

The invitation, according to him, would further complicate the situation instead of exploring ways to resolving the ongoing impasse, he said. These leaders would approach the party leadership ahead of the meeting to convince them to change the decision.
